The Tissue Network makes an important contribution to the Association's ongoing effort to help ensure an adequate supply of safe and transplantable tissues in quantities to meet national needs with maximum economy. Initiated in 1988 and composed of AATB-accredited facilities, the Tissue Network is designed to help hospitals and surgeons locate needed tissues. The AATB office, near Washington, D.C., provides toll-free telephone coverage Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Eastern Time). The Network Office provides the caller with contact information (bank name, phone number, etc.) for banks that offer the requested tissue.
