We are thrilled to announce the release of the updated Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) Recertification Guide, effective for those recertifying in 2025 and beyond. The CTBS designation signifies excellence in tissue banking, demonstrating a profound understanding of principles and adherence to industry standards set forth by AATB.

The CTBS Recertification Guide is a vital resource, outlining policies and procedures crucial for maintaining the CTBS designation. Regularly reviewing and updating this guide is paramount, ensuring alignment with evolving practices.

What this means for you if you recertify in 2024:
For those due for recertification by December 31, 2024, please note that the current Recertification Guide will continue to apply. You should adhere to the existing guidelines and requirements outlined in the current documentation.

What this means for you if you recertify in 2025 or later:
If your recertification is due December 31, 2025 or beyond, you will be required to adhere to the updated Recertification Guide. This guide incorporates any changes or updates to policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the evolving landscape of tissue banking practices.
 

Certified Tissue Bank Specialists must renew their designation every three years, demonstrating ongoing commitment to their professional growth and the highest standards of practice in tissue banking. We encourage all CTBS-certified professionals to familiarize themselves with the updated Recertification Guide, available now for reference.
