Why You Should Join

The Recovery and Donor Suitability Council gives you the opportunity to collaborate, gain and share knowledge, and network with other professionals involved or interested in tissue recovery, screening, suitability assessment, and family support services. You’ll also be able to contribute to AATB Standards, policies, and best practices that make a difference for your profession, the donor families you honor, and the tissue recipients you help.

Your level of involvement in this community of like-minded colleagues is up to you — from participating in discussions to volunteering for subcommittees. Whatever you do, your contribution will make a difference!

Enhance the quality of tissue recovery, screening, suitability assessment, and family support services by advancing AATB Standards, best practices, and education.

  • Manage and participate in relevant subcommittees, such as Uniform Donor History Questionnaire, Consent/Authorization, and Uniform Recovery Procedures.
  • Develop educational opportunities for AATB members, such as the Quality and Donor Eligibility Workshop and aseptic technique workshop sessions, and provide tracks and speakers for the Spring Meeting and Annual Meeting.
  • Review and propose changes to AATB Standards and best practices and provide guidance documents and research to support those changes.

Meeting Schedule

The Recovery and Donor Suitability Council meets once a year in person at the AATB Annual Meeting, and every month over the phone.
