Beverly Bliss will soon be joining AATB as the Vice President of Standards and Accreditation. She comes to AATB from RTI Donor Services (RTIDS), where she serves as Vice President. Beverly worked at RTIDS since 2005, and was responsible for the operational activities of donation authorization, recovery, after care and contractual relationships with organ and tissue recovery agencies throughout the United States.

Lou Barnes, Chair of the AATB Board of Governors stated, "I have known Beverly for many years and have seen firsthand her dedicated service on the AATB Board of Governors, as well as her remarkable professionalism and knowledge of tissue banking. She has demonstrated an exceptional level of leadership and skill in forging relationships with recovery partners, and has done so with an endless supply of energy and enthusiasm for her work and for the larger mission of donation and transplantation. I have no doubt that she will make an excellent addition to the AATB team."

Beverly previously held various roles at the American Red Cross Biomedical Tissue Division, and has been involved in the organ and tissue donation community since 1988. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Facilities Management from Maryville University, a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, and has earned the designation of AATB Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS). Beverly currently serves on the AATB Board of Governors in her role as the Co-Chair of the Accredited Tissue Banks Council. She has also been actively involved in several other AATB groups, including the Quality Council, the Membership Committee and the Education Committee, as well as several task forces.

Beverly is looking forward to joining AATB in a new capacity, saying, "I am thrilled to begin this next phase of my career. The opportunity to serve as the Vice President of Standards and Accreditation at AATB is a way for me to give back to the tissue banking community in a new way and on a larger scale. I am looking forward to leading an extraordinary team, while also continuing to work with such a tremendously dedicated Board of Governors."

Beverly has long been an integral part of the donation community and has held key roles in several other organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for Donate Life America, and as the Chair of the Gift of Life Trust Fund South Carolina, for which she was a founding member.

Frank Wilton, AATB President & CEO, said of the upcoming staff change, "I appreciate everything that Jason LoVerdi has done during his time as Vice President of Accreditation. I would like to thank him for his hard work and service to the association, and wish him the best of luck when he moves on to new opportunities following a brief transition period with Beverly. I'm also incredibly excited to have Beverly join the AATB team. Beverly's experience and leadership will continue the long AATB tradition of honoring the courageous decisions of tissue donors and their families, while celebrating the renewed life and vitality of tissue recipients. "

Beverly will officially begin her tenure as Vice President of Standards and Accreditation on October 1, 2018.
