George Herrera is the Executive Vice President for MTF Biologics. His primary responsibility is to oversee the Donor Services Division, which focuses on ensuring that MTF Biologics has sufficient musculoskeletal, dermal, and birth tissues from donors to meet patient needs. Donor Services provides a broad variety of services to Recovery Partners (organ procurement organizations (OPOs) and tissue banks, both domestically and internationally) that work with MTF Biologics to provide allograft tissue services to their communities.
 
He is also responsible for the International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine (IIAM) and Statline, which are divisions of MTF Biologics. IIAM provides donated human organs and tissues for research into cures, treatments, and technologies for a wide variety of diseases and conditions. Statline screens potential organ, eye, and tissue donors for OPOs, eye banks, and tissue banks, and coordinates organ transplants for transplant centers around the country. 
 
In 2026, George begins his twenty-ninth year at MTF Biologics. He has over thirty-three years of experience in the field of organ and tissue donation, transplantation, and non-profit management. He has held leadership positions in various organizations in the field, including the Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT), American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), Donate Life America (DLA), and has served on the medical advisory board of many OPOs. George's education includes a BS in Marketing and Management from Tulane University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. George lives in New Jersey with his wife, Barbara. They have two adult children.

For more than 30 years, Dean Elliott has worked in the healthcare industry managing products, sales and distribution channels, regulatory matters, personnel and general business practices to maximize the P&L of corporations. He most recently served at AlloSource as Chief Operating and Legal Officer, leading initiatives such as regulatory policy, corporate compliance, litigation, contract management and a variety of business transactions requiring review or assessment of risk.

Dean has also served AlloSource as its Associate General Counsel and Vice President of Operations. Before joining the AlloSource team, Dean’s positions included Director of Client Services for Reglera, LLC, and Acting General Manager of Staodyn, Inc.

Dean holds his law degree from the Sturm College of Law and his bachelor’s degree in health from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
AlloSource recognizes the importance of Corporate Compliance and considers it a key position with Dean, ensuring the company is operating in line with regulatory and legal processes to honor the gift of donation.

Matt Crump began his career in tissue and organ donation in 1998 after discovering a passion for working in the operating room alongside surgeons implanting tissue grafts. In 2019, Matt joined Evergen (formerly RTI Surgical) as Vice President of Donor Services, where he leads the division that partners with tissue recovery organizations to acquire donated tissue on their behalf.

Throughout his career, Matt has held leadership roles at several respected organizations, including New England Donor Services, Tissue Banks International, Donor Network West, OneLegacy, and Lions World Vision Institute. Over the past 25 years, he has been an active member of the American Association of Tissue Banks, earning the Certified Tissue Bank Specialist designation and serving as chair and member on multiple committees.

Dorrie Dils

Dorrie Dils

Gift of Life Michigan

As the leader of the nation’s 11th-largest organ and tissue program, Dorrie Dils oversees a staff of more than 400 professionals at Gift of Life Michigan. In June of 2025, after serving her term as its President, Dorrie became the Immediate Past President of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations, which represents 48 of the nation’s 56 organ donor programs throughout the United States. 

Dorrie began her career as a registered nurse in a busy Level-I trauma intensive care unit at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She transitioned to organ donation in 1991 as a donation coordinator for Lifeline of Ohio, where she served in various capacities until eventually becoming the Chief Clinical Officer. In 2016, she became President/CEO at Gift of Life Michigan and, with the collaboration of her board and team, she has grown the program, more than doubling the volume of organ and tissue donors. 

Nationally, Dorrie has been active, serving on the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network’s (OPTN) OPO, Thoracic and Transplant Administrators committees, and served on the OPTN Board of Directors from July 2024-June 2025. Previously, she served as vice chair of the University of Toledo Donation and Transplant Sciences program. She is a former chair of the AOPO Ethics Committee and served as vice chair of its Advocacy Committee. 

Dorrie was a faculty member for the Health Resources Services Administration Collaborative and a board member for the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2004, Business First named her one of the top “40 under 40”. Crain's Detroit Business named her a Notable Woman in Health in 2020 and a Health Care Hero in 2025. 

Dorrie has a bachelor’s in nursing from Franklin University and a master’s in healthcare administration from Ohio University.

As President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Solvita, Chris is a forward-thinking leader with a proven record of accomplishment. Over his 20-year career, his drive, ambition, and dedication for continuous business improvement are anchored to the company’s mission, “Empowering people to save and enhance lives”. In late November 2003, Chris started his journey in Philadelphia, PA. That year, the company distributed 60,000 grafts for transplant; 20 years later, Chris, along with the extraordinary team at Solvita, distributes over a million grafts yearly, positively making an impact for more individuals and families through tissue donations.

Chris began his career as a Customer Service Representative, serving in multiple roles over his tenure, including Director of Sales and Marketing, Executive Director of Business Development, and, most recently, as Chief Commercial Officer.

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in science from Bowling Green State University and received his MBA from Ohio University. Chris joined the Advisory Board for Indiana Donor Network in 2023, the Board of the Miami Valley Research Park Association in 2019, and the Joint Restoration Foundation Board in 2016.

Chris was drawn to the industry when he was personally touched by tissue donation when one of his college roommates became a donor after being involved in a car accident and succumbed to his injuries. Drawing from this experience, Chris was driven to serve and support families that are touched by the generosity of Organ, Eye, & Tissue donations. In 2012, Chris wrote and published the book Bubba the Bear, a story written to console children who have been severely burned and require skin grafting, providing them with encouragement and companionship. Solvita provides the book and a teddy bear to children free of charge as a companion on their skin grafting journey. To date, over 3,000 Bubba the Bear kits have been given to children around the world.

Melissa O'Connor, MS, FRAPS, RAC, CTBS, serves as the Chief Quality and Regulatory Officer for StimLabs, LLC, a birth tissue processor and medical device manufacturer in Roswell, Georgia. Since the company’s inception in 2015, Melissa has been responsible for developing and growing all aspects of Quality, Regulatory, and Governmental Affairs for StimLabs. She has more than 25 years of experience in medical device, tissue, and combination product new product development, research, engineering, commercialization, and Quality Management. Throughout her career, she has held Quality and Regulatory leadership positions serving as the Management Representative, Head of Quality, and official FDA correspondent for various medical device companies. She is a Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) member, a board member of the RAPS Atlanta Chapter, holds an active RAC certification, a BS in Biological Sciences, and an MS in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs. Melissa is a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (2017), an ISO13485:2016 certified Lead Auditor, and was awarded the distinction of RAPS Fellow in 2022.
 
As a member of the AATB Quality Council from 2016 to 2022, she co-chaired the authoring of the CAPA Best Practice Guidance document. From 2021-2023, Melissa served as the chair of the AATB Program Committee and was responsible for the development of the theme and educational content for the AATB Annual Meeting. Today, Melissa is very active with the Association as a member of both the Birth Tissue and Regulatory Affairs Councils, head of the Birth Tissue Regulatory Legislative Workgroup, an AATB Board at Large Director, and she is the chair of the AATB’s Government Relations Committee. Through her membership and service to the Regulatory Affairs Council and the Government Relations Committee, Melissa provides input into current regulatory and legislative issues and advocates on behalf of the entire tissue banking community to save and improve lives by promoting the safety, quality, and availability of donated human tissue. Melissa is most passionate about bringing new and innovative medical products to patients, leadership, mentoring, and Regulatory and Government affairs. She is proud to be the author of the industry’s first human birth tissue derived FDA cleared medical device for wound management. Melissa appreciates the opportunities the Association provides to allow individual members to develop their leadership skills while having such a profound impact on the broader tissue banking community through service, including our industry partners, donors, donor families, and patients.

Mark is originally from London, England, where he attended nursing school in 1980. He moved to the US in 1986 and worked in emergency medicine for 12 years before moving into the field of donation and transplantation in 1996. Mark worked in both organ and tissue recovery for 9 years before moving to Tampa to oversee Donor Operations for LifeLink Tissue Bank. He is currently the Associate Executive Director, Senior Vice President, and is responsible for overseeing Donor Services and the Quality and Regulatory Departments

Mark has been a member of the AATB Tissue Policy Group Executive Committee since its inception and has worked closely with industry colleagues as an advocate for the industry.

Anna began her tissue banking career twenty years ago, processing amniotic membrane allografts. Since then, she has expanded her roles and responsibilities to include successfully guiding 510k medical device clearance, CE mark, and quality system design. Anna has spent the last 14 years shaping Birth Tissue Recovery into a successful, multistate birth tissue recovery bank. She has extensive experience with FDA and ISO, quality system build-up, and industry knowledge.  Anna is dedicated to and passionate about educating others about the benefits of human tissue donation.

Douglas Wilson has been a cornerstone of LifeNet Health for over 25 years, bringing transformative leadership to nearly every facet of the organization. Since 2006, he has served as Executive Vice President, overseeing a wide array of mission-critical functions spanning corporate communications, legal, commercial strategy, intellectual property litigation, organ transplantation, tissue recovery, life sciences, and strategic biologics initiatives. His leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping LifeNet Health’s position as a global leader in regenerative medicine and transplantation.

A longstanding contributor to the advancement of ethical standards and public trust in the field, Mr. Wilson has held influential roles within the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). He was a founding member of the AATB Tissue Policy Group, where he currently serves as Chair, and has contributed extensively to numerous other AATB committees and task forces, including the Public Relations Task Force during times of heightened national scrutiny. He also serves on the AATB Board of Directors.

Mr. Wilson has been a prominent national voice on transplant-related policy and public health. He has testified before congressional committees, collaborated with over 50 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) across the country, and represented the tissue banking community during a critical period following an early case of allograft-transmitted HIV. His leadership helped catalyze industry-wide adoption of modern testing protocols, and he led efforts within LifeNet Health to share vital safety innovations, setting new standards for tissue donation and processing.

In addition to his involvement with AATB, Mr. Wilson has actively contributed to the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), further underscoring his commitment to collaboration across the donation and transplant ecosystem.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Wilson is deeply engaged in civic and educational leadership. He has served on the Boards of the American Heart Association and The Norfolk Forum and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Virginia Wesleyan University, the Regional Board of the Hampton Roads Chamber, and the Board of Governors for the Norfolk Yacht & Country Club.

Mr. Wilson earned his BA in Political Science, with a concentration in Communication, from Virginia Wesleyan University in 1987. In recognition of his contributions to both his profession and community, he was honored with the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017.
