AATB Name Change: Guidance for Accredited Establishments

As shared in the January 12, 2026, AATB NewsBrief, effective January 1, 2026, the association transitioned from a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership association to a 501(c)(6) trade association and now operates as the Association for Advancing Tissue and Biologics (AATB). 

AATB recognizes that many AATB-accredited tissue establishments have SOPs, forms, and other records that reference the association’s former name. Accredited Establishments may update these references during their next scheduled document review cycle, but no later than December 31, 2026.

During inspections in the coming year, AATB inspectors will remind establishments of the name change. Nonconformities or discussion items will not be cited solely due to the use of the former association name.
