Letter in Response to the CMS Request for Information Related to Health and Safety Requirements for Transplant Programs, OPOs, and Other Facilities

AATB submitted the below letter in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Request for Information (RFI) on Health and Safety Requirements for Transplant Programs, Organ Procurement Organizations, and End-Stage Renal Disease Facilities. Several questions in this RFI specifically reference tissue banking activities and the relationship to OPOs. AATB strongly encourages, supports, and promotes organ recovery and recognizes that organ recovery should be prioritized over tissue -- without limitation.
