What is the Uniform DRAI?
Uniform DRAI stands for Uniform Donor Risk Assessment Interview. The UDRAI consists of flowcharts, guidance documents, and questionnaires which are used to screen potential donors.
These documents are used to access the following of a potential donor:
- Medical History
- Behavioral History
- Travel History
- Social History
If a potential donor is deceased, then a person who knew the donor (often referred to as a knowledgable historian), such as a family member or partner, provides relevant information related to the donor's history to an interviewer from a tissue bank. For more information about donor eligibility and the tissue donation process, please refer to the AATB's Tissue Donation page.
