AATB is aware of the FDA Safety Communication issued on July 10, 2026, titled Important Information for Human Cell, Tissue, and Cellular and Tissue-based Product (HCT/P) Establishments Regarding Ebola Disease and HCT/P Donation. 

We are pleased to announce the publication of a new editorial, “Uses of Human Tissue Bioburden Data,” authored by AATB’s Dr. Melissa Greenwald and Eduardo Nunes, highlighting the importance of human tissue bioburden information in supporting tissue safety and quality practices. 

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the Calendar Year (CY) 2027 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System proposed rule. 

Tuesday night, the House Appropriations Committee voted 34-28 to advance the Fiscal Year 2027 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, as amended, to the full House of Representatives. 

We are pleased to announce the publication of novel research advancing the evaluation of meniscus allografts and supporting improved outcomes in transplantation and tissue banking.

AATB commends Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Rich McCormick, MD (R-GA) for writing to Acting FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas regarding the agency’s policy on screening human tissue donors for sepsis.
